ACS Expedited Solutions Announces New Web-Based Driver Orientation Program

Online Training Significantly Reduces Costs for Fleets and Carriers

DENVER, COLORADO: July 13, 2009 – ACS Expedited Solutions is launching ‘Command Solutions’ – a new Web-based driver orientation program for trucking companies of all sizes. The new service will allow fleets to save millions of dollars in travel and lodging costs by allowing drivers to complete pre-hire paperwork, orientation and testing online.

“This Web-based orientation training might be new to the trucking industry, but it’s not new to ACS,” said Kelley Walkup, division vice president and general manager for ACS Expedited Solutions.  “ACS works with hundreds of customers on e-learning platforms.  It makes sense to offer the service to the transportation industry – especially in this current economic climate – as a means to help carriers create a better bottom line.”

ACS, the recognized leader in business process improvement and outsourced IT solutions in the truckload market segment, offers Web-based driver orientation training to all carriers.  With Command Solutions, fleets reduce travel, housing and per diem costs, improve learning retention, decrease the hiring cycle, increase asset utilization, and provide an excellent source for documentation against litigation.

Drivers utilizing Command Solutions complete their pre-hire paperwork, orientation and testing online. When the driver successfully completes all orientation testing online, they travel to the fleet facility for a road test, drug test and introduction to the carrier.  This process significantly reduces costs, creating opportunities for better truck to revenue ratios and less down time for drivers while in orientation.

“Command Solutions reduces costs for carriers significantly, even for small carriers,” said Walkup.  “On average, Web-based orientation can save carriers more than $1,000 for every driver they hire.  That’s a savings of over half a million dollars for carriers who hire 500 drivers a year.”

ACS touches millions of people’s lives every day. Each year, ACS makes moving people and products around the world easier by processing approximately 260 million travel transactions for 12 major passenger airlines; by utilizing the largest truck stop scanning network in the country ACS helps more than 900 trucking companies make deliveries, including eight of the top 10 carriers representing more than 13 million truckloads annually; and processing two million documents every day for a worldwide shipping and logistics leader. Whether it’s helping consumers make airline reservations, purchase hotel and vacation packages or assisting companies in managing their accounts, providing customer support or streamlining planning and scheduling, ACS keeps the world moving.
