ACS Develops New Cost-Saving In-Cab Scanning Solution

LAS VEGAS: February 28, 2010 – Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), A Xerox Company (NYSE: XRX), can save fleets up to 25 percent on document management and processing costs by using ACS’ new in-cab scanning solution.

ACS, along with PeopleNet, a provider of innovative Internet-based and integrated onboard computing and mobile communications systems, created the in-cab scanning and automated indexing solution for PeopleNet users to expedite customer billing. This solution eliminates costs and time associated with out-of-route miles for drivers, unreliability of other submission methods and manual data entry errors by drivers.

“In-cab scanning gives drivers the added convenience of completing their paperwork without ever having to leave their truck,” said Kelley Walkup, division vice president and general manager for ACS. “Giving drivers another way to quickly and easily submit their paperwork improves the bottom line for any carrier.”

ACS will demonstrate this new solution during the 2010 Truckload Carriers Association Annual Convention in booth #328 from February 28 to March 3 at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort.

ACS TripPak SCANNING™ combines the capabilities of PeopleNet’s communications as well as PACOS® geofencing and automated messaging integration with ACS’s existing imaging integrations and document management infrastructure. Drivers scan documents directly from the cab on the ACS TripPak SCANNING™ Model 467 Scanner, which is connected to the PeopleNet BLU device. The combination of these technologies promotes a seamless integration from the cab to the back office, which drives greater return on investment and advances paperless environments for fleets.
